There are kindergarten and primary schools within the villages where SOS Children attend and also children from the neighbouring communities.
The SOS Vocational Training Center is located in the Isolo Village premises where the youth learn computer
and secretarial courses, hotel and catering, design and dressmaking. Over 190 trainees benefit from the wide range of programmes offered by the SOS Vocational Centre at the moment. All the programmes, run by the SOS Vocational Training Center, are accredited by the Lagos State Ministry of Education, Department of Vocational and Private Studies. The graduate trainees undergo the Trade Test Examination, which is conducted by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity.
The first SOS Social Centre was built in 2004, in a low-income suburb of Lagos, Ejigbo in order to run the community development programmes and to empower women towards preventing child abandonment. Gwagwalada Village Social Center started operation in 2007.
SOS Family Strengthening Programmes:
The Family Strengthening Programme works to prevent child abandonment by providing support to community children, empowering their families and developing the capacity of their communities through Community Based Organisation (CBO's) to take future action in responding to the needs of orphans and vulnerable children within their respective communities
FAMILY STRENGTHENING MANAGER: Jos (Zawan), Kaduna and Ibadan
As Family Strengthening Manager you ill be responsible for leading the planning implementation, monitoring & evaluation of the family strengthening programme.
THE CHALLENGE
Ensure effective implementation of plans – building & supporting the development of sustainable community responses to the situation of children at risk of losing parental care
Ensure that those children who are most at risk participate in the programme

Building a strong programme team implement required administrative systems, as well as monitoring and evaluation systems
YOUR PROFILE
A degree (or equivalent) in development studies, social work , public administration, social sciences or other relevant subject
At least 3 years experience in community development or social services. Management experience an added advantage
Experience in project management, monitoring & evaluation
An understanding of relevant social development issues
Excellent command of the English language and good verbal and written communication skills fluency in one or more of the language of the target community(ies)
Basic financial management skills
Basic computer skills (windows, word, excel)
A valid drive license (or learning to drive)
Highly organised, able to work independently, use initiative and keep commitments
FIELD OFFICER: Lagos (Ejigbo), Jos (Zawan)
As a Field Officer, you will be responsible for leading the initial assessment of families being considered to participate in the programme
THE CHALLENGE
Facilitate the preparation of the families first development plans
Support co-workers of community-based partner organisations in their work with families
Support the delivery of support services by the programme

YOUR PROFILE
A degree (or equivalent) in development social work , social sciences or other relevant subject
At least 1 year experience in community development or social services
An understanding of issues facing orphans & vulnerable children
